Zusammenfassung:Layers (2) of carbon fibers (3) are held together by a differential pressure. This is exerted by the vacuum bag (5) covering them. An alternating magnetic field (11) is produced by an inductor (8). This is spaced away from the vacuum bag. The field acts through the bag, to induce electrical currents in the carbon fibers. The field frequency is 10 - 30 kHz. The inductor is moved automatically in free space around the vacuum bag, to reach the various positions where layers containing carbon fibers are to be fixed together. The layers are formed by carbon fiber fabrics. An additive increasing electrical conductivity, is added to the binder. Two inductors are used on opposite sides of the blank, the field in the carbon fiber region being produced by both of them. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR corresponding apparatus.
