ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR WITH SECURITY LOCKING SYSTEM

An electrical connector comprises a housing (2) having at least one primary locking tab (5a, 5b) as a primary locking system for latching into a recess of an electrical counter-part connector (54), and a connector position assurance (CPA) member (3) as a secondary locking system, which is engageable with the housing (2) and comprises at least one secondary locking tab (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) blocking the primary locking tab (5a, 5b) in the recess of the electrical counter-part connector (54) when the electrical connector (1) is plugged into the electrical counter-part connector (54) in a plug-in direction. At least one security locking tab (6a, 6b) is formed on the CPA member (3), which may have at least one security projection (37a, 37b) adapted to latch behind a security shoulder (45a, 45b) in a retention slot (51) of the housing (2) to prevent an accidental disengagement of the CPA member (3), but to allow active disengagement.
