| Zusammenfassung: | A stand alone splicing device for splicing a trailing edge of a first web and a leading edge of a second web is disclosed, the first and second web each having a first and a second side edge and a first and a second surface.
The splicing device comprises
€¢ a first web holding means for maintaining the first and second side edge of the first web during engagement and for releasing the first web from engagement such that the device can be removed from the spliced first and second web;
€¢ a second web holding means for maintaining the first and second side edge of the second web during engagement and for releasing the second web from engagement such that the device can be removed from the spliced first and second web;
€¢ a moveable supporting means adapted for being moved into a supporting position for supporting the second surface of the first web along the trailing edge and the second surface of the second web along the leading edge during splicing of the trailing edge and the leading edge, the moveable supporting means adapted for being moved into a device removal position for allowing the device to be removed from the spliced first and second web after release of the first and second web held by said first and second web holding means. |
