Zusammenfassung:A vehicle arresting device comprises a net 1 intended to be laid flat on the ground in the path of an oncoming vehicle to be arrested. Rows of barbed spikes 8 are attached to the net along its leading edge. When a vehicle runs over the device the spikes lodge in its front tyres and the net is caused to wrap around the front wheels, eventually being pulled tight under the vehicle so that the tension in the net prevents further rotation of the wheels and the vehicle is brought to a stop. The spikes 8 are attached to the net by penetrating through the material of the net at respective junctions 1A between adjacent loops of the net.
