Zusammenfassung: | Composition of coloring keratinous fibers comprises a first oxidation base such as 2,3-diamino-6,7-dihydro-1H,5H-pyrazolo[1,2-a]pyrazol-1-one or its addition salts, a second oxidation base such as para-phenylenediamine, para-toluenediamine or their addition salts and a first coupler such as substituted meta-aminophenol (II) or its addition salts, in a medium. The molar ratio of first coupler to first oxidation base is greater than 1, the molar ratio of first oxidation base to second oxidation base is 0.5-1.5 and first oxidation base is present at >=2.5x10 -> 3> mol/100 g of composition. Composition of coloring keratinous fibers comprises a first oxidation base such as 2,3-diamino-6,7-dihydro-1H,5H-pyrazolo[1,2-a]pyrazol-1-one or its addition salts, a second oxidation base such as para-phenylenediamine, para-toluenediamine or their addition salts and a first coupler such as substituted meta-aminophenol of formula (II) or its addition salts, in a medium. The molar ratio of first coupler to first oxidation base is greater than 1, the molar ratio of first oxidation base to second oxidation base is 0.5-1.5 and the amount of first oxidation base is >=2.5x10 -> 3> mole per 100 g of composition. Either R 1, R 2H, alkyl, monohydroxyalkyl, polyhydroxyalkyl or monoaminoalkyl; NR 1R 25-7 membered ring (optionally substituted by carboxy, carboxamido, OH, NH 2 or mono- or dialkylamino (the alkyl optionally substituted OH, NH 2 or mono or dialkylamino)); R 3halo, alkyl, alcohol, monohydroxyalkyl, polyhydroxyalkyl, monohydroxyalkoxy or polyhydroxyalkoxy; and n : 0-4, preferably 0-2. Provided that when n is equal to 0, then at least one of the radicals R 1 and R 2 and is different from hydrogen atom. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method of dyeing keratin fibers comprising applying the composition to the keratin fibers in the presence of an oxidizing agent for a sufficient time to develop the desired coloration; and (2) a multi-compartment device comprising a first compartment of the tinctorial composition and a second compartment of an oxidizing agent.
