The power supply for a gripper head (1) of a gripper-weaving machine, which is connected with a gripper pole or a band movable in longitudinal direction, comprises an inductive coupling device with primary and secondary induction coils (8, 9) coupled with one another. The secondary induction coil is formed at the gripper pole or at the band (2) and/or at a oblong fixing part of the gripper head, extends itself over a length of 5, 15 or 50 cm, has flow loops and is connected over a converter with an energy storage. The coupling device has magnetizable core (7) and/or -yoke.
