Zusammenfassung:	The method and device for producing hollow building blocks involves an open press mould (6) that has a height adjustable indentor (11) together with a retractable press plate (14) located in the press mould which is penetrated from below by the indentor. Once the press mould is filled with a granular mould material (F) the indentor is immersed and the material enters in the press plate. Under compression from the indentor, the material is pressed in a number of different ways. The press-plate may operate, step-wise, when pressing the material, whilst the indentor may move the same distance downwards at each step.
