ROUTER FOR AN IP COMMUNICATION NETWORK ADAPTED TO THE DETERMINATION OF CONFIGURATION CHARACTERISTICS ADAPTIVE FOR NEIGHBOURING ROUTERS

The invention concerns a router (R1) for an internet protocol communication network with address-self-configuration, comprising; i) at least one communication interface (I), associated with a network identifier, ii) processing means (MT) for obtaining a profile of technical characteristics of each router (R2, R5), called neighbouring, provided with a communication interface (I) connected to one of its own interfaces and iii) management means (MG) for determining for each neighbouring router (R2, R5) which requests same at least one characteristic adapted to its profile (obtained by the processing means (MT)), taking into account the determined profiles of the other neighbouring routers (R2, R5).
