Zusammenfassung:	The airbag unit (21) is disposed inside the rear upper face portion (1d) of the instrument panel (1) near the difference-in-level portion (1b). The lid portion (32) is configured to open substantially forward around the hinge member (35) without hitting against the difference-in-level portion (1b). Herein, the hinge member (35) is configured such that the lid portion (32) can open beyond the difference-in-level portion (1b) to the position where the lid potion (32) is substantially located on the front upper face portion (1c) of the instrument panel (1) when the airbag (24) is inflated to its maximum opening state. Accordingly, the proper protection of the passenger seated in the assistant seat can be performed.
