Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a method for operating a dishwasher machine (1), and to a corresponding dishwasher machine. Items to be washed (3) are washing with a washing product in the dishwasher machine (1) and then rinsed with fresh water (20) heated in a boiler (9). The items to be washed (3) are then subjected to a thermal aftertreatment with steam. The steam for the thermal aftertreatment is produced in the boiler (9) for heating the fresh water (20), and introduced into the dishwasher machine (1) by means of washing systems (12, 13) provided for the rinsing.
