Zusammenfassung:	The package has two piston rings (K1, K2) provided with respective bearing surfaces (L1, L2), where the rings are manufactured from cast-material. The rings are arranged in respective piston ring grooves (N1, N2) of a piston (2) in such a manner that the bearing surfaces stay in frictional contact with a cylinder bearing surface (7) of a cylinder wall (3) in an operating condition. The bearing surfaces of the piston rings comprise a wear protection coating (6) consisting of material e.g. aluminum oxide. An independent claim is also included for a piston comprising a piston ring package.
