Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to an apparatus for storing and handling tools of a machining center. Said apparatus comprises a tool-holding module that is provided with a plurality of mutually aligned tool seats, and a feeder which can be displaced along said module and by means of which tools can be removed from and inserted into the module. According to the invention, the tool-holding module (1) is composed of at least one first chain magazine (1.1) while the feeder (2) moves on a horizontal plane. Furthermore, a transfer magazine (3) which is used for temporarily storing tools (W) and is also embodied as a chain magazine adjoins the feeder (2). Finally, a transfer station (4) adjoins the transfer magazine (3) for transferring/removing tools (W) to/from the work spindle (5).
