Zusammenfassung:	A method for shaping and hardening a steel workpiece (7) heated above AC 3 in a press with upper and lower mold tools (1, 2) with shaping geometries (3, 4) involves (i) locating the lower mold tool of the press in a liquid bath (5), (ii) placing the heated workpiece in the press above the liquid level (50), (iii) moving the upper tool towards the lower tool, so that the workpiece is immersed in the bath in the direction of the lower tool and (iv) carrying out the shaping and heating of the workpiece by moving the upper tool onto the lower tool. An independent claim is included for the corresponding press, in which the lower mold tool is located in a liquid bath and the upper mold tool is movable both above and below the liquid level.
