Zusammenfassung:	The method involves considering a model sequence regulation structure embedded in a regulation system, for error diagnosis of a mechatronic system. The error diagnose occurs based on an estimated value derived from model of a controlled system. A difference of the estimate of a guiding variable is derived from the model, and the actual value of the control variable is produced. The error is localized by the use of a post filter. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program for performing an error diagnosis of a mechatronic system (2) a control and regulation mechanism for operating an internal combustion engine.
