Zusammenfassung:	The method involves continuously measuring lighting intensities in the environment of a vehicle. The measured lighting intensities are divided into range of values. A counting value is assigned to each range of values in dependence of the respectively measured lighting intensities, such that parameters are defined, where the parameters led to different weighting of the measured values for the intensity of light. The counting values are added in a counter (4). Actual lighting conditions are detected based on counter reading. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method of controlling an outwardly emitting light device of a vehicle (2) a device for controlling an outwardly emitting light device of a vehicle.
