Zusammenfassung:	New unsaturated esters comprising activated carbonyl groups in alpha positions which can be grafted onto polymers to modify their surface properties, particularly their hydrophobic character. The esters conform to the formula (I): CH 2=CH-Y-CH 2-O-(C=O)-Z-(C=O)-X; - in which: X : group activating the carbonyl function; Y : 6-20C saturated aliphatic radical, optionally substituted by one or more 1-10C alkoxy radicals; and Z : 2-10C saturated aliphatic radical. Independent claims are also included for: (1) synthesis of the esters (I); (2) use of the esters (I) in the modification of polymers and textile supports onto which the compounds are grafted; and (3) a compound of formula (II). CH 2=CH-Y-CH 2-O-(C=O)-Z-(C=O)-OH (II) X, Y= as defined above.
