Zusammenfassung: | Diagnostic method involves production of diagnostic model (5), in which first model knots (6) are assigned to first automation component (1) and second model knots (7) are assigned to second automation component (2). Linkages (8) are produced between first and second model knots within the diagnostic model, which models physical and functional relationship between first and second automation component. The first state of the first automation component is recorded in the first status information (9) of first model knot and the second state of the second automation component is recorded in the second status information (10) of the second model knot in the diagnostic model. The first or second status information is evaluated to determine the status information for the automation system (3). A diagnostic model with the development of the automation system, accomplished with an engineering system (11) is produced.
