| Zusammenfassung: | The passenger protection airbag (12) has a housing (14) containing a rear fabric portion (24). This is joined to a front fabric portion (22,26) contacting the passenger (10). The front portion incorporates threads with piezoelectric elements. An electrically-controlled valve (18) to blow off excess gas is mounted on the front portion of the airbag. Signals from the piezoelectric elements are transmitted to an electronic control circuit (20) which can open the valve when the wall (16) of the airbag reaches a given tension. |
