Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed is a closure for a container comprising an opening (2) that is enclosed by a cylindrical wall (3). The inventive closure is provided with a plastic plug (1) that can be inserted into the container opening (2) and embraces the exterior of the wall (3) of said opening by means of a circumferential wall (5), a securing ring (7) which is connected to the circumferential wall (5) of the plug (1) via tearable axial connecting webs (6), and locking members that are distributed across the circumference on the inside of the securing ring (7) and engage behind a radially protruding locking ring (9) of the wall (3) of the opening. In order to create advantageous structural conditions, the locking members consist of locking noses (8) that are located in the area of the inner edge of the securing ring (7), which faces the circumferential wall (5), while axial webs (10) encompassing a sloping lead-in surface (11) extend from the locking noses (8) towards the inner edge of the securing ring (7), which faces away from the circumferential wall (5).
