Zusammenfassung:	Following preliminary size sorting, mixed rubble is fed to a separator (17) where middle fractions are accelerated to 3-6 m/s, passed through a Near Infra Red (NIR) or ultra-sound scanner (16), before being deflected by an impingement plate (18), which is controlled using the scanner output signal, to provide enrichment in a two-way split ( mineral and non-mineral). Use of multiple units in series provides further refinement. An independent claim is included for an arrangement utilizing NIR or sound scanning for separating mixtures of mineral and non-mineral materials.
