A pneumatic chamber (P) is separated from an auxiliary hydraulic chamber (E) by a movable wall (6a). The auxiliary chamber communicates with a hydraulic pumping chamber (A) through a choked port (D). Dead volume defined between a check valve seat (19) and an inner surface of the pneumatic chamber is less than 0.3 cubic centimeters.
