Zusammenfassung:Method for object detection for a motor vehicle, whereby a motor vehicle has onboard sensors (S1-3) with at least partially overlapping detection areas. Two sensors have substantially overlapping detection areas (ES1, ES2) while the third overlaps in a much smaller region. An object is classified as relevant when it is detected by at least two sensors. An Independent claim is made for a motor vehicle object detection system with one sensor (S2) that has a much narrower object capture angle than two other sensors (S1, S3).
