Zusammenfassung:	To optimize the operation (6) of a textile machine, and especially an open-end spinner, the working is controlled by the adjustment of at least one parameter. The parameters are put into an assisted mode (3) for the operator to add additional data and/or the required operating measures. The operator can switch between the assisted mode and an unassisted mode (2). Known parameters and/or measures to clear faults are stored in a knowledge memory (17), to work with a fault correction routine (10) and production monitor routine (16).
