Zusammenfassung:In a process to regenerate a nitrogen oxide storage catalytic converter exhaust from a directly injected automotive petrol engine, air is blown directly into the exhaust gases upstream of the catalytic converter. At the instant the gas is blown into the exhaust gases, the engine receives a rich air-fuel mixture. The air is introduced by an air pump (11) via a valve controlled hose (14). An independent claim is included for a catalytic converter regeneration assembly for use in the method.
