Styrene-hypophosphite adducts (I) are of formula (1) R9[CPh(R1,R2,R3,R4,R5)R6-CR7R8]n)mP(O)(O1/xMx+>)(H)2-m (1) R1-R8H, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, oxoalkyl, oxoaryl, aminoalkyl and/or aminoaryl; R9H or a radical initiator residue; Mx+>lithium, sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium, aluminum, germanium, tin, bismuth, antimony, lead, titanium, titanyl, zirconium, zirconyl, zinc, iron, cerium, manganese or a protonated nitrogen base; m : 1 or 2; n : 1-100 Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for the preparation of the adducts (I) by dosing in a radical initiator to a mixture of a phosphorous containing compound and a styrene containing compound; (2) a phosphorous containing flame retardant (II) comprising 50-99 wt.% of the adduct (I) and 1-50 wt.% other additives; (3) powder molding compositions, molded articles, film and fibers comprising 1-50 wt.% of the flame retardant (II), 1-99 wt.% polystyrene based polymer, 0-60 wt. % additive and 0-60 wt.% fillers and; (4) intumescent flame retardant coatings comprising 1-50 wt.% of the flame retardant (II), 0-60 wt.% ammonium polyphosphate and 0-80 wt.% binding agents, foam builders, fillers and additives.
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Styrol-Hypophosphit-Addukt der Formel (I) {R9 [C(Ph(R1, R2, R3, R4, R5))R6-CR7R8]n}mP(O)(O 1/x M)(R10)2-m in der R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8 gleich oder verschieden sind und Wasserstoff, Alkyl, linear oder verzweigt, Aryl, Aralkyl, Oxoalkyl, Oxoaryl, Aminoalkyl und/oder Aminoaryl, R9 H oder Radikalinitiatorrest R10 H M Li, Na, K, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Al, Ge, Sn, Bi, Sb, Pb, Ti, TiO, Zr, ZrO, Zn, Fe, Ce, Mn und/oder eine protonierte Stickstoffbase mit der Wertigkeit x, m = 1 oder 2 und n = 1 bis 100 bedeutet und die Anzahl der in die P-H-Bindung eingeschobenen Styroleinheiten C(Ph(R1, R2, R3, R4, R5))R6-CR7R8 darstellt. |
