Extension piece for a dental implant, transmission aid, and method for preparing a base for a retention piece

A dental implant has an extension with a head that serves as the anchorage attachment for a matching retaining element. The retaining element has a threaded anchorage pin that screws into the dental implant. The extension has a reference surface by means of which the exact position of a transfer surface is located using an accessory jig by rotation of the reference surface. The exact position of the extension is transferred by an impression of the accessory jig. A manipulative implant is then applied to the extension and repositioned in the impression. This procedure produces a model in which the defined extension form may be defined. The resulting extension is then inserted into the implant using the same torque value as employed for taking the impression.
