Production of oximes by reacting a carbonyl compound having 6-20 carbon atoms with ammonia and hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a water-miscible organic solvent and a heterogeneous titanium catalyst, separating the catalyst, crystallizing the oxime from the reaction mixture, entraining water from the mother liquor and recycling the solvent comprises using a solvent that boils above 100 degrees C and/or forms an azeotrope with water, distilling water or azeotrope from the mother liquor and recycling the distillation bottoms and optionally the organic phase of the azeotrope.
