Zusammenfassung:	The rheometer (10) comprises a casing (12) for guiding the motion of a piston (11). The piston has a mid-section (11b) with smaller diameter than the other sections of the piston (11a,11c). The upper section of the piston (11c) is cylindrical and has a small annular gap between itself and the casing, forming exhaust slots (14) along the sliding surface of the piston. The lower section (11a) is also cylindrical and contacts an end plate (13).
