Zusammenfassung:A redox catalytic converter is used to reduce the nitrogen oxide gases in diesel engine exhaust gases with ammonia. Additionally, the active catalytic substance is used as the substrate material for the platinum group metal for the oxidation catalytic converter. The catalytic mass is based on a solid-acid system of formula (I). TiO2/WO3/MoO3/V2O5/SiO2/SO3 (I) The reduction catalytic converter is a cylindrical honeycomb of length L with gas inlet and outlet end-faces and the catalytic active mass also serves as the substrate material for the oxidation catalytic converter platinum group metal, and is applied to 20 % of the reduction catalytic converter length L. The reduction catalytic converter is a monolithic ceramic or metal unit. The oxidation catalytic converter is based upon platinum and palladium and is applied to the reduction catalytic converter gas outlet end-face. An Independent claim is included for a manufacturing process in which the reduction catalytic converter outlet end-face is impregnated with a platinum reduction catalyst compound applied in soluble form.
