Apparatus for continuously processing starch material comprises a dispersing container (12) in which an enzyme is mixed into the starch, an activating device (17) for activating the enzyme, and a holding container (20), forming an activation path (22), which comprises multiple outlets (A0-A4) at points corresponding to different propagation times at an even material supply rate. A control device opens the outlets corresponding to the respective residual propagation time in a time-staggered manner, when the supply of material is ended.
