Zusammenfassung:	An expandable composition for the formation of substantially sphere-shaped particles each containing a closed cell(s) comprising at least one resin selected from a polyvinyl alcohol resin, an acrylonitrile based polymer, an acrylic polymer and a vinylidene chloride based polymer, and at least one foaming agent selected from straight and branched aliphatic hydrocarbons having a carbon number of 2 to 8 and fluorides thereof, an alicyclic hydrocarbon having a carbon number of 2 to 8 and a fluoride thereof, and an ether compound represented by the following general formula (I): R 1 -O-R 2 (I) (wherein each of R 1 and R 2 is a monovalent hydrocarbon residue having a carbon number of 1 to 5 provided that a part of hydrogen atoms in the hydrocarbon residue may be substituted with a fluorine atom).
