Zusammenfassung:	Process for providing a decision-making aid for use in the selection of drilling and/or cutting elements used in a building material region comprises dividing into regions (12-14) in a geographic information carrier (10) areas of use of aggregates for concrete depending on the different drilling and/or cutting resistance of the aggregates. An identification mark (15-17) assigned to each region reflects a variable of the drilling and/or cutting resistance. The drilling and/or cutting elements to be used in an aggregate area of use of defined drilling and/or cutting resistance are provided with an identification mark (25-27) corresponding to the identification mark of the region. An Independent claim is also included for a system for providing a decision-making aid for use in the selection of drilling and/or cutting elements used in a building material region. Preferred Features: The information carrier is a map showing the regions as areas with locations (11).
