Zusammenfassung:Regulating anaerobic waste water treatment tank vortex speed, comprising subjecting gas, water and biomass to anaerobic fermentation in a sludge reactor (1), is new. The reactor has a three-phase separation system which retains biomass and surrenders gas and water separately. A liquid vortex is maintained in the reactor. The speed of vortex rotation is especially regulated as required. An Independent claim is also included for a reactor in which the speed of vortex rotation is increased by the release of recycled biogas (13) in the direction of liquid flow. The vortex speed of rotation is reduced by bleeding off biogas from under the vortex. The vortex flow is guided by a series (3) of inclined parallel baffle plates (6,7,8). The assembly has a gas collection hood (2), a water trap (5). Gas is introduced at the same depth as the lowest baffle plate.
