Zusammenfassung:Trimming heads are engaged to the longitudinal sides of a metal strip (1) moving along a trimming path to cut trims from the longitudinal edge of the strip. The longitudinal edge position and width of the strip are measured at the upstream of the heads. The positions of the head can be adjusted to a strip width direction based on a measurement result before the blade engagement of the heads to the strip. An Independent claim is also included for a metal strip trimming apparatus.
