Zusammenfassung:	The large-surfaced bodywork component, particularly an engine or front bonnet (1) of a motor car, has a thin-walled or softly bendable outer part (4) and an inner stiffening structure, with an edge-side support (3) formation. On at least an edge-side area of the bodywork component, the support structure, removed and separated from the adjacent edge of the bodywork part and the outer part (4), is inwardly displaced. The outer part, in the area of the edge-side area, is formed as a U or V profile open to the bodywork inside, one leg of which is formed as part of the outside of the bodywork and its other leg as a connection to the frame-type support structure. The support structure (3), at least area-wise, has a tube-type closed profile.
