Zusammenfassung:	A method and system (10) for estimating a temperature of an electric machine (12) comprising obtaining a temperature value responsive to a temperature signal (23) from a temperature sensor (13), the temperature sensor (13) is operatively connected to and transmitting the temperature signal (23) corresponding to a measured temperature to a controller (18). The controller (18) executes a temperature estimation process (100); and is operatively connected to a switching device, where the switching device is operatively connected between the electric machine (12) and a power source (22), the switching device being responsive to the controller (18). Also disclosed is a storage medium encoded with a machine-readable computer program code for estimating an operating temperature of an electric machine (12). The storage medium includes instructions for causing a (18) to implement method for estimating an operating temperature of an electric machine (12) as described above. Additionally disclosed is a computer data signal embodied in a carrier wave for estimating an operating temperature of an electric machine (12). The computer data signal comprising code configured to cause a controller (18) to implement a method for estimating an operating temperature of an electric machine (12) as described above.
