Zusammenfassung:A piston guide means for use in a swash plate compressor comprises a piston (10) with a piston head (12) at one end and a foot portion (14) at its other end. The piston head (12) can reciprocate in a cylinder (18) and foot portion (14) accommodates a bearing (16) for a swash or wobble plate arrangement (17) of the compressor. A piston rod (11) extends between the piston head (12) and the foot portion (14) and passes through a plate (20) or similar arrangement. In this way compression of the rod (11) is reduced and wear of the piston (10) caused by axial forces acting thereon as a result of the swash plate arrangement is thereby mitigated.
