Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a method and device for setting the pre-tensioning of two cylinders, which operate counter to one another by the provision of maculation rings, according to which measurement errors are reduced by using a measuring device (14). To this end, the measuring device is placed inside a setting gauge (01), which is located outside of the printing machine and which is provided in the form of a maculation ring pair (03, 04) that is true to the original, and a set value is recorded there. Using the measuring device (14), said set value is subsequently reproduced by adjusting the maculation ring pairs in the printing machine.
