PROJECTILE WITH PROXIMITY FUZE

The invention relates to a projectile (1) with proximity fuze, comprising an active charge (7), a fuze (9) for firing the active charge (7) and a distance sensor (13) which detects the distance from a target (3) located in the trajectory of the projectile (1) and triggers the fuze (9) when the projectile reaches a defined firing distance. The projectile (1) further comprises an energy source (18) for supplying the distance sensor (13) with electricity and a control unit (17). The control unit (17) activates the distance sensor (13) only once the projectile (1) is in flight so that said sensor requires less energy and the energy source (18) can consequently be small in size.
