Zusammenfassung:2-(4-Methoxy-phenyl)-1-oxa-spiro[2.5]octane-2-carbonitrile (I) is new. 2-(4-Methoxy-phenyl)-1-oxa-spiro[2.5]octane-2-carbonitrile of formula (I) is new. [Image] Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Preparation (P1) of (I); and (2) Preparation (P2) of (+/-)1-[2-dimethylamino-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-ethyl]-cyclohexanol (IX) comprising a first step of hydrogenating (I) in the presence of a catalyst or reducing (I) by treatment with ammonium formate and hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst selected from noble metal or supported noble metal catalyst, to give 1-[2-amino-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-ethyl]cyclohexanol (X).
