Zusammenfassung: | The engine has at least one inlet valve unit constructed with such heat dissipation measures that a range of the load-RPM mapping, with surface temperatures in the region of the inlet valve's belling (68) below 180 degrees, is increased with reference to the corresponding section of the load-RPM mapping without these heat dissipation measures in such a way that when the engine is running a build-up of coking deposits on the inlet valve (20) is reduced. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for running an internal combustion engine, whereby during running of the engine in the range of the load-RPM mapping with an inlet valve temperature below 180 degrees, the cooling water temperature is lowered in relation to running outside this range. |
