The telephone (10) of the GSM type, has a control device with a touch-pad keyboard (24), movable vertically independently between a rest position, and an activated position, whose individual activation allows the composing of combinations of alphanumeric characters such as a telephone number, or to control the cursor (36), or the scrolling of a menu on the display screen (32).
