| Zusammenfassung: | The escalator step (10) has a comb plate in its entry and exit area with comb segments, the teeth of which mesh with grooves in the step or pallet. On the comb segment (12) or on the comb plate one or more sound sensors (24) are connected, with which a breakage of a tooth can be ascertained. The sensor is arranged adjacently to the tooth root (26), particularly on the under side of the segment. The sensor is connected to an evaluation circuit, with which the output signal of the sensor can be evaluated. The frequency spectrum of the output signal is also determinable. An ultra-sound sensor is employed. It is continuously active during the operation of the step. |
