Zusammenfassung:A printhead 21 for an inkjet printer 10 having geometric features which reduce drop placement error of main 6 and satellite 8 drops ejected from the nozzles 82 of the printhead 21. Nozzles 82 that are tilted along an axis 85 corresponding to the direction of scanning of the printhead 21 while printing have reduced drop placement error 19' in the orthogonal direction 4 to the scanning, and create a breakoff velocity 5s for the satellite drop 8 that can cause the main 6 and satellite 8 drops to be placed in a coincident location on the medium 18 in one of the directions of scanning, thus forming desireable round printed spots and reducing drop placement error in the scan direction. These improvements can be repeatably achieved for all nozzles 82. Nozzles 82 with non-circular and asymmetric bores 82b-g also reduce drop placement errors, particularly when these types of nozzles 82 are also tilted.
