Electronic device and method for sensing the reverse polarity of a vehicle power network voltage

The vehicle battery (3) is connected to a monitoring unit (4) that compares the negative (U2) and positive (U1) voltages. This detects a polarity change when the negative value is greater than the positive value. The difference and the duration are stored and used in the service diagnostic system
