Zusammenfassung:	Protection equipment for pulse code modulation installations meant to suppress transients, both of overcurrents and overvoltages, with characteristics such that it protects the regenerators of New Pulse Code Modulation Line Equipment (NPCMLE) from transients induced in the communications cable. The longitudinal protector can be installed in the regenerator itself replacing two of its components. It comprises: four monopolar pins with a height adjusted to the NPCMLE regenerator, a gas discharger, a power resistance and a transients absorber.
