Zusammenfassung:	Production of cuprous chloride (CuCl) from copper-containing residues from synthesis of organochlorosilanes comprises: (a) treating an aqueous suspension of the residues with a mineral acid and an oxidizing agent, one or both of which contain chlorine, to form aqueous cupric chloride (CuCl2) solution; (b) treating one portion of solution with reducing metal to form elemental copper; and (c) treating the copper with another portion of solution to form CuCl.
