Zusammenfassung:	Radiation apparatus comprises a longitudinal high pressure discharge lamp (9) for emitting UV radiation; a longitudinal reflector (12) made of a highly reflecting material which extends longitudinally along the lamp and partially encloses it to reflect the emitted UV radiation ; and a cylindrical reflector (13) which reflects inwardly and made of a highly reflecting material arranged between the lamp and the object to be irradiated. The UV radiation coming from the lamp and the reflectors falls with a homogeneous intensity onto the object. Preferred Features: The reflector (12) has two longitudinal reflector elements (17, 18) each having a parabolic cross-section. The lamp contains a gallium doping. The cylindrical reflector (13) has an inner diameter of 130-160 mm and a length of 80-200 mm.
