Zusammenfassung: | The elastic cladding (12) of a roller with a hard metal core (10), to polish paper webs, is composed of an elastic matrix (15) with embedded filling materials (13) where at least part are of a metallic material of at least a metal, in zones. At least part of the metallic filling material can be a metal foam (13), impregnated or filled with the matrix material and/or the metal foam (13) has pores (14) at least partially filled with the matrix material. At least part of the filling material in the matrix can be a metal powder, especially in a particle size of 5-50 mu m and preferably 10-20 mu m. At least part of the metallic filling material can be metal fibers or rovings and/or of metal-coated carbon and/or glass fibers or rovings. At least part of the fibers and especially a majority of them are aligned axially and/or radially and/or in a statistical alignment distribution and/or in a fiber layer or radially successive fiber layers. At least part of the metallic filling material can be elastic and/or additional filling materials can be incorporated into the elastic matrix material especially as fibers such as of carbon and/or glass and preferably of quartz and/or a polymer. The metallic filling material (13) extends as far as the surface of the elastic matrix material (15), and especially penetrates through the matrix surface and/or the matrix surface is coated with a metal cladding. The thermal conductivity of the metallic filling material (13) is significantly higher than that of the matrix material (15) and/or part of the metallic filling (13) extends radially inwards to the surface of the roller core (10) and/or the filling material (13) has a thermal coefficient of expansion which is lower than the matrix material (15) and especially equals the thermal coefficient of expansion of the metal roller core (10). The roller cladding (12) has a radially outer functional layer and a radially inner bonding layer to hold it at the roller core (10). The metallic filling material (13) is placed at least in the functional layer. The matrix material (16) is a heat-setting polymer or a thermoplastic and/or of a combined resin/hardener material. An Independent claim is included for the production of a cladded roller where the elastic matrix material for the cladding contains added metallic filling materials. |
