The invention relates to a transmission unit with a transmission housing (2) which has an essentially cylindrical inside space (5) for receiving individual transmission elements (15). The invention is characterised in that at least two elements (11, 12, 13, 14, 16) are provided for connecting an individual transmission element (15) to the transmission housing (2) in a radial direction, said elements being allocated to the inside space beyond the area of the largest dimension in the direction of height in the installation position. The arrangement is preferably carried out in the corner areas (7, 8, 9, 10) of the housing and can be described by the intersection of the inside space and a theoretically constructible square qtheoretisch with a lateral dimension greater than or equal to the diameter d of the inside space, the theoretically constructible square qtheoretisch and the inside space having identical axes of symmetry (51, 52).
